February 2005 - Expanded production facility for leather chemicals goes on stream in Wuxi, China
Following the decision to invest, two new production buildings were constructed in just 15 months at the LANXESS site on the Wuxi industrial estate, situated north-west of Shanghai.

February 2005 - Establishment of a joint venture to produce rubber chemicals in Tongling, China
At the company site situated approximately 500 kilometers to the west of Shanghai, LANXESS, in conjunction with its partners Tong Feng and Xinda, builds a plant for the production of the anti-oxidant Vulkanox®.

March 2005 - Laying the foundations for the hydrazine hydrate plant in Weifang, China
At this stage the production plant remains at the LANXESS site in Baytown, USA. The dismantling of the plant has already begun. Preparations for transporting it to China are set in motion.

July 2005 - Opening of a technology center in Shanghai, China
LANXESS sets up the technology center for the development of technical plastics in order to meet the requirements of its customers and the market even more effectively.
