LANXESS: Martin Kraemer appointed as Country Representative for LANXESS in Greater China

Leverkusen/Shanghai – Martin Kraemer (42) has been appointed as Country Representative Greater China of specialty chemicals group LANXESS effective January 1, 2009. He succeeds Yongli Wang (38), who is leaving LANXESS at his own request to pursue new opportunities outside the company. The succession of Martin Kraemer as CFO LANXESS Greater China will be announced at a later date.

"Yongli Wang has made vital contributions in establishing the young company LANXESS as an important player in the chemical industry in China. I would like to thank him for this achievement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors", says Board Member Rainier van Roessel.

Martin Kraemer started his career in 1991 with Bayer AG. He relocated to Korea in 1994 as deputy managing director and head of administration of Bayer Korea Ltd. in Seoul and returned to Germany in 1997. After his return to Germany, Kraemer held various leading positions in marketing, planning and controlling in the Bayer Chemical Division.  After the foundation of LANXESS, he was appointed head of the Treasury Group Function. In April 2008, Martin Kraemer was appointed Chief Financial Officer of LANXESS Greater China.

Martin Kraemer is looking forward to the new challenge: "I have already had the opportunity to spend half a year here in the China organization as CFO in Greater China. Our staff here are highly motivated, well trained and committed to LANXESS. It is an honor for me to serve as president in such an environment."
